Louis Tomlinson Information

Louis Tomlinson (December 24, 1991) is an English television personality, singer, and songwriter. He was born in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Tomlinson failed his first year of A-Levels at the Hayfield School and joined Hall Cross to start A-Levels again.

Louis Tomlinson started his career by appearing in several musical productions while he was still a student at Hall Cross. He slowly got the ambition and determination for music because of his involvement in Hall Cross.

Tomlinson auditioned for the seventh series of the singing competition “The X Factor.” Though he failed to progress into the “Boys” category, later on, by the suggestion of guest judge Nicole Scherzinger, he was put together with Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Nial Niall Horan, to form a five-piece band of boys. In this way, he ended up qualifying for the “group” category of the competition where styles suggested the name “One Direction.” The group gained popularity very quickly in the UK.

It was confirmed soon after The X Factor that Simon Cowell had signed one Direction for his Syco Records label. They started working on their debut album immediately after signing the contract. In February 2011, One Direction released a licensed book titled “One Direction: Forever Young (Our Official X Factor Story).” The book topped the Best Seller list of The Sunday Times.

Tomlinson, with One Direction, released their debut single “What Makes You Beautiful” in September 2011. The single got both global and commercial success, reaching no. 1 in the UK, including several countries. In November 2011, they released their debut studio album “Up All Night.” It was first released only in Ireland and the UK. Later on in 2012, the group released it internationally.
