Pittsburgh Penguins Information

The Pittsburgh Penguins (also known as the Pens) is an American professional ice hockey team which is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Pens are a member of the Metropolitan Division of the NHL's Eastern Conference. The franchise is one of the two franchises in Pennsylvania. The club is under the ownership of Ronald Burkle and Mario Lemieux (purchased the franchise in 1999).

The Pittsburgh Penguins were founded in 1967 and became the first expansion team during the league's original expansion. The team plays its home games at PPG Paints Arena . They chose white, black, and Pittsburgh gold as colors of their uniform. The Penguins (1992–93) won the first-ever Presidents' Trophy due to holding a record of most points at the end of the season.

The Pens won eight division titles, qualified for six Stanley Cup Finals (winning five times in 1991, 1992, 2009, 2016,2017). This victory tied the Pens for the title of most Stanley Cup Championships among the other non-Original Six teams as well as sixth overall. Due to 2016 and 2017 wins, the teams became back-to-back champions in 19 years.

The mascot for the Penguins is named Iceburgh. The team brought several numbers of inductees to the Hockey Hall of Famers, some of which are Andy Bathgate, Paul Coffey, Tim Horton, Larry Murphy, Mario Lemieux, Luc Robitaille, and a few more. The Hall of Fame builders includes Scotty Bowman, Herb Brooks, Craig Patrick, and Bob Johnson.

The Pittsburgh Penguins are the winner to 5 Stanley Cups, 6 Conference championships, 8 Division championships, and 1 Presidents' Trophy. The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation is a community that brings several aiding activities for the youth and families via charity assistance and hockey education.
