Ari Lennox Information
Ari Lennox (March 26, 1991) is an African American songwriter and singer. She is known initially as Courtney Shanade Salter. She was born in Northern Virginia. Her formative years were spent in the Washington metropolitan area. Lennox adopted her stage name, Ari Lennox, after getting heavily influenced by Mary Lennox, a character in the film named The Secret Garden.
In 2012, Ari Lennox started uploading her songs on the internet. Her debut mixtape entitled Five Finger Discount, along with her debut EP, Ariography, was released by her in 2013. She also released her independent single “Bound” in 2014. Elephant Eyes, an album by Omen, featured Ari Lennox on track “Sweat it Out,” released on July 21, 2015. She is the first woman who got signed by the Dreamviller Records of J. Cole. He wanted Lennox to work with him for Rihanna’s references.
Ari Lennox has appeared with Cozz on the track “Backseat,” included in an album entitled “Revenge of the Dreamers II.” She then released her debut EP “Pho” on October 21, 2016. She has also appeared on “Change,” the song by J. Cole, as well as during 2017; she performed an opening act on the “4 Your Eyez Only Tour”. She released her first single, “Whipped Cream,” from her debut album, “She Butter Baby,” on September 5, 2018. On November 9, two more singles entitled “Grampa” and “40 Shades of Choke” were released by her. Then again, on November 13, two more singles named “Pedigree” and “No One” were released. The album was eventually released on May 7, 2019.
Ari Lennox has performed in only one headlining tour in her career so far named “She Butter Baby Tour” that she announced on March 27, 2019. On the contrary, she went on the supporting tours as well, such as From East Atlanta with Love Tour (2018), and Cuz I Love You Too Tour (2019).
