Big Time Rush is an American pop-music boy band. It was formed in 2009. The group's current lineup consists of Carlos PenaVega, Logan Henderson, James Maslow, and Kendall Schmidt. They signed with Nick Records in 2009 before moving to Columbia Records in 2010. Big Time Rush was a Nickelodeon television series in which the trio starred. From November 28, 2009, through July 25, 2013, the show was air. The group's first single, "Big Time Rush," was featured in the pilot episode. BTR was launched in 2010, Elevate was released in 2011, and 24/Seven was released in 2013. In 2014, the band announced an extended break, which lasted until 2021, when they returned to live performances and released a single, "Call It Like I See It."
Because of their association with the Nickelodeon TV series and children's network, Big Time Rush has been marketed as a "child-friendly" band, despite their musical distinctions. Sound of the Big Time Rush has been described as "pop-inspired dance-rock."
The group was voted the "Best Boy Band in the World" in a Parade poll in 2012, beating out One Direction and the Wanted. There were over 800,000 votes cast. The band was featured on Parade magazine cover August 5, 2012 issue, which became a national bestseller. An interview and photo package celebrated the group's win in the same issue, which corresponded with the accolade.
