Robert Allen Zimmerman, popularly known by his stage name Bob Dylan is an American singer-songwriter, visual artist, and author from Hibbing, Minnesota. Bob enjoys rockstar status and has been a prominent figure in popular culture for over 50 years.
Bob's current fame rides mostly on his work back in the '60s when he released hits like Blowing in the Wind (1963), and The Times They Are a-Changin (1964). The latter became the theme song for civil rights movements and anti-war movements.
At the time, his lyrics touched on the current political, social, and philosophical happenings. Something that made his music resonate well with so many people. He launched his debut album, self-titled, in 1962. The album had mainly traditional folk songs. His big break as a songwriter happened when he released The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan in 1963.
