Chevelle Information
Chevelle is an American rock band based in Grayslake, Illinois. It was formed in 1995. Three brothers named Sam Loeffler, Joe Loeffler, and Pete Loeffler composed this band. Sam looked at the drums and percussion, Joe controlled the bass and backing vocals, and Pete was the guitarist who also looked at the lead vocals. The band name Chevelle came from their love for cars.
Joe left the band in 2005. Geno Lenardo, who was a bassist, replaced Joe. Later on, Lenardo got replaced by Pete and Sam’s brother-in-law, Dean Bernardini. Chevelle has sold more than four million albums in the United States so far.
The band started to perform in clubs as well as small outdoor concerts when their youngest brother Joe was only 14 years old. These brothers were genuinely self-taught musicians.
They recorded their 7-track demo album released in 1998 titled “The Blue Album.” After this demo album, they continued to play in small concerts for three more years. After this long hard work, they finally signed on the Squint Entertainment of Steve Taylor, who owned a contemporary Christian music label. In 1999, Chevelle finally came up with their first full-length album “Point # 1”. They recorded this album for 17 days in Electrical Audio studios with Steve Albini.
Some of the studio albums the Chevelle band has released so far since its formation are Point # 1 (1999), Wonder What’s Next (2002), This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In) (2004), Sci-Fi Crimes (2009), Vena Sera (2007), La Gargola (2014), Hats Off to the Bull (2011), and The North Corridor (2016).
