Darius Rucker Information
Darius Rucker, born in 1966, is a singer-songwriter from Charleston, South Carolina. Since childhood, singing was always a dream for him. Rucker’s music is defined as rock, pop, blues, country, and R&B. He started his career as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of rock band Hootie & the Blowfish. The group was founded in 1986 at the University of South Carolina. The band released five albums with Rucker and charted six top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100.
Rucker released his first solo R&B album in 2002, entitled Back to Then. The album was released on Hidden Beach Recordings. Later on, he signed to Capitol Nashville as a country music singer and released another album entitled Learn to Live. This album included the single name "Don't Think I Don't Think About It" that made Rucker the first black artist to reach number one on the Hot Country Songs charts since 1983. Some of the other hit singles by Rucker are "It Won't Be Like This for Long," "Alright," "History in the Making," "Come Back Song," and "This."
Other notable albums by Rucker are Charleston, SC 1966 (2010), True Believers (2013), Southern Style (2015), When Was the Last Time (2017), and several more. Rucker has headlined numerous tours, including Southern Style Tour (2015) and Good for a Good Time (2016). He also co-headlined Summer Plays on Tour (2018) with Lady Antebellum and supported H2O II: Wetter and Wilder Tour with Brad Paisley (2012) along with Own the Night Tour with Lady Antebellum (2012). Rucker is the winner of three Grammy Awards, one Academy of Country Music Award, one British Country Music Association Award, and several other honors.
