Depeche Mode is an electronic music band. The current lineup of the group consists of Martin Gore and Dave Gahan. Depeche Mode has sold 100 million+ records worldwide, with 54 singles reaching the top 10 on the UK Singles Chart and 17 albums cracking the Top 10.
One of the "50 Bands That Changed the World!" was Q, which boasted the band's inclusion. VH1's list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time" has Depeche Mode at No. 98. Depeche Mode was ranked as the No. 10 Greatest Top Dance Club Artists of All Time by Billboard in 2016.
They received Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominations in 2017 and 2018 and were inducted the following year, in 2020. On August 15, 2022, Depeche Mode's social media accounts posted a photo of Gahan and Gore in a recording studio with the tweets "finding stability in what we know and love, and focusing on what gives life meaning and purpose," which magazines like NME speculated was a hint at work on a new studio album.
Depeche Mode announced Memento Mori, their fifteenth studio album, and a tour supporting the record on October 4, 2022. The tour kicked up on March 23, 2023. During their early years in the UK, Depeche Mode was labeled a teen pop group and featured in teen pop magazines like Smash Hits.
