Misfits are an American punk rock band, known as the forbearers of the horror punk rock subgenre of the punk rock genre. The band was formed in Lodi, New Jersey, US in the year 1977. The vocalist Glenn Danzig and the drummer Manny Martinez were the founding members of the band. The current line-up includes Jerry Only as the bassist and backing vocalist, Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein as the lead guitarist, Glenn Danzig as the lead vocalist, Dave Lombardo as the drummer and Acey Slade as the rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist.
Misfit’s songs like “Dig up her bones”, “Die, Die my darling”, “Night of the living dead”, “Where Eagles dare”, “Descending Angel” and many more such songs have been fan favourites ever since they have been released. The band started as a punk rock band taking influences from horror movies. They gradually took inspiration from various other genres and created their distinctive sound. Although Misfits changed a lot of members over the years, their fans have stayed ever faithful and the band continues to sell out venues when they go out on tour.
