New Kids on the Block Information
New Kids on the Block, often initialized as NKOTB, is an American boy band from Dorchester, Massachusetts which is just South of Boston. The band was formed in 1985 and consisted of brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight and Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, and Danny Wood. The band's music style is described as pop and R&B. The group disbanded in 1994 but later reunited in 2008.
The self-titled debut album by New Kids on the Block was released in April 1986. It comprises singles, "Be My Girl" and "Stop It, Girl." It was followed by Hangin' Tough (1988), Merry, Merry Christmas (1989), Step by Step (1990), Face the Music (1994), The Block (2008), and 10 (2013). Thankful (2017) was an EP by the group. Some of the compilation albums released by New Kids on the Block are No More Games/The Remix Album, H.I.T.S., Tour Souvenir Collection, Greatest Hits, Super Hits, and New Kids on the Block: Greatest Hits.
Some hit singles by the band are "Stop It, Girl," "You Got It (The Right Stuff)," "I'll Be Loving You (Forever)," "Cover Girl," "Didn't I (Blow Your Mind)," "This One's for the Children," "Step by Step," and a few more. New Kids on the Block also performed many successful headlining tours such as Hangin' Tough Tour (1988), Magic Summer Tour (1990–1992), Face the Music Tour (1994), New Kids on the Block Live (2008-2010), South America and Mexico Tour (2012), and European Tour (2014).
Some of the other co-headlining tours are NKOTBSB Tour with the Backstreet Boys, The Package Tour, The Main Event, Mixtape Tour, and a few more. The band won two American Music Awards and was nominated for the 1990 Grammy Awards.
