The 1975 is an English pop rock band. The group's current lineup consists of George Daniel, Ross MacDonald, Adam Hann, and Matty Healy. The 1975 debut album, The 1975, co-produced by Mike Crossey (of Arctic Monkeys and Foals fame), was released on September 2, 2013. In an interview with Larry Heath of The AU Review, Healy noted that, before their debut studio album was released, The 1975 were already selling out performances.
The band's primary social media profiles were disabled on February 14, 2022, suggesting new music was on the horizon. On June 1, the band's social media accounts were revived, and new postings and upgrades to the band's official website heralded the beginning of a new era. The first track, "Part of the Band," was teased in late June 2022 from their upcoming fifth studio album, Being Funny in a Foreign Language. A track listing for the album was included on postcards given to fans, and posters of Healy were put up across London to promote the song.
There was a follow-up North American arena tour in 2023 titled Still... At Their Very Best. It's going to be their biggest tour of the area so far. They were the main attraction at Reading and Leeds in August 2023 for the third time, performing a "10th Anniversary Performance" of their debut album.
