Boston Red Sox Information
The Boston Red Sox is a professional baseball team. The team plays in the American League's East division. It proudly calls Boston, Massachusetts home. The Boston Red Sox are also known as The Olde Towne Team, The Sox, and The BoSox, but they were formally known as the Boston Americans (1901–1907). Fenway Park is the current home field for the Boston Red Sox, whereas Huntington Avenue Grounds was the team's prior stadium.
The team's outfits are navy blue, red, and white, the team's official colors. The team's official mascot is Wally the Green Monster, while Tessie is widely recognized as Wally's younger sister. The squad regularly ranks among MLB's best regarding average road attendance.
The Boston Red Sox have won 9 World Series championships, 4 of which were not won until 1918. They didn't win another pennant again until 2004 (an 86-year wait), and fans blamed the fabled "Curse of the Bambino." And yet, the franchise has produced some iconic moments, like as the "Impossible Dream" in 1967, the "mad dash" of Enos Slaughter in 1946, the home run of Carlton Fisk in 1975, and many others.
The Red Sox also have 14 American League pennants, 10 East division titles, and eight wild card appearances. Notable seasons and team records set by this team include David Ortiz's franchise record of 54 home runs in a season (2006), Nomar Garciaparra's club mark of a.372 batting average as a right-handed hitter in 2000, and many more.
