Colorado Rockies Information
The Colorado Rockies is one of the American National professional baseball teams based in Denver, Colorado. The Rockies compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a club member of the National League’s (NL) West division. Coors Field is the home field for the Colorado Rockies. Mile High Stadium (1993–1994) was the former ballpark for the team. The following nicknames know the Rockies; The Blake Street Bombers and The Rox.
The Colorado Rockies opted for purple, black, and silver as the color theme of its uniforms. The official mascot of the team is Dinger. The franchise is under the ownership of Monfort brothers. In 2007, the team earned it's very first and only one NL pennant. This took place just after winning 14 of their final 15 games in the regular season to protect a Wild Card position. The Rockies also won 5 Wild Card berths, but none of the West Division titles and World Series titles.
At the beginning of the 2012 season, the Colorado Rockies introduced "Purple Mondays." It was entitled so because the team was supposed to wear a purple uniform on every Monday game day. The team has none of the inductees into the Baseball Hall of Famers.
Some of the individual awards earned by the Colorado Rockies are NL MVP to Larry Walker (1997), NLCS MVP to Matt Holliday (2007), NL Rookie of the Year to Jason Jennings (2002), Hank Aaron Award to Todd Helton (2000), Gold Glove Award to Larry Walker, Todd Helton, Carlos González, and few more, Manager of the Year Award to Don Baylor and Jim Tracy, NL Batting Champion to many players, and Silver Slugger Award to many players.
