The Detroit Tigers is an American professional baseball team. The team was established in 1894. Tigers have been playing its home games at Comerica Park since 2000. Their uniform color scheme includes white, orange, and midnight navy blue. Ilitch Holdings currently owns the Detroit Tigers.
Scott Harris is the operation manager and president of the team. A. J. Hinch is their manager, and Sam Menzin is the general manager. From 1901 through 2022, the Tigers went 9512-9407 (.503) in the win-loss column.
After falling behind 3-1 in the series, the Tigers became only the third team to return and win the World Series. Lolich was honored as the World Series Most Valuable Player for leading the Tigers while they achieved three big victories. Lolich is the only pitcher in World Series history with three complete-game victories.
Due to Detroit's proximity to these areas and the Tigers' Double-A affiliate Erie SeaWolves in northwestern Pennsylvania, the team enjoys a significant fan base along the Lake Erie region (throughout Michigan, northwestern Ohio, and southwestern Ontario). The team has a smaller fan base in and around the Erie, Pennsylvania area.
The Tigers signed a jersey sponsorship arrangement with Meijer, a grocery store brand based in Michigan, in 2023. The patch, worn on either sleeve depending on the player's handedness, coordinates with the rest of the outfit.
