Green Bay Packers is an American professional football team that is based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The franchise competes as a member of the National Football Conference (NFC) North Division in the National Football League (NFL). The Green Bay Packers was established on August 11, 1919. The team is the only non-profit franchise that is a community-owned major league professional sports team. Since 1957, the Packers have played their home games at Lambeau Field. The Green Bay Packers is owned by Green Bay Packers, Inc. (360, 760 stockholders - governed by a Board of Directors).
The official theme color for the Green Bay Packers uniform is white, gold, and dark green. Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, and Chicago Bears are the long-standing rivalries of the Packers. In 2019, Forbes ranked the Green Bay Packers as the world’s 27th most valuable sports franchise. The team has a value of $2.63 billion, according to the Forbes report. They have won 13 league championships that are the most by any NFL team in history. The team has also won the two Super Bowls in 1967 and 1968.
Packers were the only team that defeated the American Football League (AFL). They have won nine overall conference championships and nineteen division championships. They are also stated to be the only team that has won three consecutive NFL titles; they have done this twice in their career.
The Green Bay Packers has no official mascot for many reasons. The Packers have inducted several players into their Hall of Fame lists such as Brett Favre (2016), Arnie Herber (1966), Clarke Hinkle (1964), and a few others.
