The Las Vegas Raiders are an American football team that plays professionally. Originally the Oakland Raiders, they were founded on January 30, 1960. The team's first home venue was in Oakland, California. With the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, they made the switch to the NFL. After waiting nearly three years, the Raiders finally made the trek to Sin City on January 22, 2020.
The Raiders introduced Dave Ziegler as their new general manager on January 30, 2022. From 2013 through 2021, Ziegler oversaw the New England Patriots' player personnel and scouting departments as their director of player personnel. The Raiders introduced Josh McDaniels as their next head coach on January 31, 2022. The Raiders officially introduced Patrick Graham as their new defensive coordinator on February 4, 2022.
Greg Papa was the Raiders' voice from 1997 to 2018, when he and Tom Flores, a former quarterback and coach, were fired. Brent Musburger was the Raiders' play-by-play announcer from 2018 through 2022. A failed lateral pass play by New England after regulation resulted in a walk-off score and a 30-24 triumph for the Raiders, who would not again defeat New England until 2022, after the team had moved to Las Vegas.
