The Los Angeles Kings are a Los Angeles-based professional ice hockey team that is a member of the Pacific Division of the NHL's Western Conference. The franchise was founded on June 5, 1967, and became one of the six teams that played their part in the 1967 NHL expansion. The former home arena of the Kings was The Forum located at Inglewood, California (a suburb of Los Angeles) while the current one is the Staples Center located in Downtown Los Angeles. The team is owned by the Los Angeles Kings Hockey Club, L.P., which is an AEG company.
The Kings selected their uniform color theme in black, silver, and white (a classic one). The team first appeared in the Stanley Cup in 1993.
