The University of Missouri presents the Missouri Tigers football team in the College of Football in Columbia, Missouri. Tigers have been playing since 1890. They have played in 35 bowl games, including ten big bowl games like the Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Sugar Bowl, and Fiesta Bowl.
The NCAA recognizes the Tigers as having won 15 league titles, five divisional titles, and two national championships. The state's record is 701-585-52 going into the 2021 season.
The Tigers have been in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and the Eastern Division since 2012. The team's home field is Faurot Field ("The Zou") in Columbia, Missouri. It was named for Don Faurot, a coach who became a Hall of Famer.
Gary Pinkel, who was the coach of the Missouri football team from 2001 to 2015 and is now in the Hall of Fame, has the most wins in the history of Missouri football. On January 3, 2014, he won his 102nd game in the AT&T Cotton Bowl, making him the coach with the most wins in Missouri football history. Pinkel's record with Mizzou is 118–73 after his last game on November 27, 2015.
Missouri was in the East District of the SEC from 2012 to 2023. Each year, they played every team in their division and a few teams from the Western Division.
