Toronto Maple Leaf generally referred to like the Leafs, is a Toronto based professional hockey team, founded in the year 1917. This team is a member of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League. They play their home games at ScotiaBank Arena based in the city of Toronto, Ontario. Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd own the Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Club.
The team chose blue as it’s home uniform color and white as it’s uniform color when playing away. The team’s mascot is an anthropomorphic polar bear, Carlton the Bear. They are currently affiliated with two minor league teams, the Toronto Marlies and the Newfoundland Growlers. The team has won 13 Stanley Cups, 2 Hart Memorial Trophies, 10 Calder memorial Trophies, 9 Lady Byng Memorial Trophies, 2 Prince of Wales Trophies, 6 Vezina Trophies, throughout their journey.
The Club has the greatest number of players inducted in the Hockey Hall of Fame. The Team has 75 inductees, including 13 builders of the sport and 62 former players, including Jack Adams, Dickie Moore, Jacques Plante, Phil Housley, Leo Boivin, Dave Andreychuk, Terry Sawchuk, Larry Murphy, Brian Leetch, and many more. Foster Hewitt was awarded the Hall of Fame’s inaugural Foster Hewitt Memorial Award in 1984, an award named after him. Wes McKnight (1986), Bob Cole (2007), Joe Bowen (2018), and Bill Hewitt (2007) were as well awarded Foster Hewitt Award.
