Corey Lamont Holcomb (June 23, 1969) is an American actor, radio host, and comedian. He was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Holcomb began his comedy career as a stand-up comedian in Chicago. He also worked with other comedians such as DeRay Davis and Godfrey. Holcomb also emerged as the face of Chicago’s comedy scene in the late 1990s.
Holcomb billed himself as the “Ghetto Dr. Phil” often. His comedy material is inspired by the theme of relationships, especially the relationships that go wrong. He has also toured across the country and has been a regular stand-up comedian based in television shows such as Def Comedy Jam, Last Comic Standing, Nick Cannon Presents Wild ‘n Out, and Comic View. He has also appeared with fellow comedian DeRay Davis on The Jerry Springer Show, also featuring himself in his comedy specials, including Corey Holcomb, Comedy Central Presents Corey Holcomb, and Corey Holcomb: The Problem Is You.
Holcomb, as an actor, has appeared on several sitcoms, including Black Jesus, Half & Half, and Everybody Hates Chris and Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. He has also done a few minor roles in popular films such as Dance Flick and Like Mike. From 2007 to 2011, Holcomb was a regular part of The Foxxhole, which was a satellite radio channel of Jamie Foxx.
So far in his career, Holcomb has appeared in a few films including The Watermelon Heist (2003), Baggin’ (2005), Who’s Watching the Kids (2012), Think Like a Man Too (2014), The Wedding Ringer (2015), and a few more.
