Frozen was originally a 2013 computer-animated musical film by Walt Disney Pictures. The film was a breakthrough on many levels, showcasing the love between two sisters, Elsa and Anna, and moving away from the stereotype of a “Prince Charming” coming to save the “Princess” from her problems. Frozen the Musical is based on the musical book by Jennifer Lee, the director of the Disney movie. Princess Elsa is the next in line to be crowned the Queen of Arendelle. She possesses cryo-kinetic magic powers where she can create snow with her bare hands. The plot develops around the events and the mishaps that occur due to the magic she possesses. Her sister Princess Anna is the first unfortunate victim of those mishaps. The musical is enacted in two Acts. Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez were the songwriters of this movie.
On November 27, 2014, Frozen’s general theatrical release received great reviews for its visuals, screenplay, themes, music, and voice acting. The film earned $1.280 billion worldwide in box office revenue, becoming the highest-grossing animated film of all time. Many live spin-offs have been created from the film, including Disney On Ice: Frozen.
