Micah Sierra “Katt” Williams (September 2, 1971) is an American voice actor, singer, stand-up comedian, and actor. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, he started to perform comedy in his neighborhood, Evanston. He began performing in clubs nationwide. Williams had already become an established comic by 1999 by appearing on stage at the likes of The Hollywood Park Casino, The Ice House, The Comedy Club, and The Improv. He has appeared on Comic View by BET as Katt “In the Hat” Williams.
In 2006, Williams starred in Katt Williams: Live: Let a Playa Play, his first comedy special. The same year, he also appeared in his second & first HBO stand-up special named, The Pimp Chronicles, Pt. 1. He got the offer of a movie/stand-up entitled American Hustle. The film played a vital role in Williams’ career as it established him as a mainstream comedian.
Williams released his second HBO comedy special named It’s Pimpin’ Pimpin’. He made his acting debut in 2002 when he appeared on NYPD Blue. He has played supporting characters in various films as well, including Norbit and First Sunday. Williams is best known for his character as Money Mike in Friday After Next.
As a Money Mike, Williams has rapped songs for multiple artists, including Suga Free, The Game, and Baby Bash. In 2018, He won the Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series. Other notable films in which Williams has appeared include The Perfect Holiday, Epic Movie, Rebound, Ganked, and Priceless Afterlife.
