Kevin James (April 26, 1965) was named Kevin George Knipfing when he was born. James is an American comedian, actor, producer, and screenwriter. Gary Valentine is the elder brother to James, who is also an actor and comedian. James is famous for his role on the CBS sitcom “The King of Queens” as Doug Heffernan. He was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series in 2006 Primetime Emmy Awards for this role.

James initiated his career in 1989 doing stand-up comedy. He made his debut at the East Side Comedy Club (Long Island). He appeared in several walk shows and gained massive fame. Some of these talk shows include; The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Rosie O'Donnell Show, Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, and a few more. Among the 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians list, James was on no.89. He has also done a stand-up routine on Just for Laughs (an annual comedy festival). “Kevin James” is a stand-up special owned by James himself in 2001. Again in 2018, another stand-up special titled “Kevin James: Never Don’t Give Up” was released on Netflix by him.

His very first job on TV was on The New Candid Camera in 1991. He also appeared in the MTV sports game show SandBlast as an announcer. James was also featured in CBS sitcom, Kevin Can Wait. He has also appeared in some hit films such as I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007), Zookeeper (2011), Hitch (2005), Here Comes the Boom (2012), etc. His voice-overs were used for Monster House (2006), Barnyard (2006), and Hotel Transylvania (film series from 2012 until 2018).
