A group writes this mystical, romantic, and country-side musical of writers. Oklahoma is based on the play by Lynn Riggs called Green Grow the Lilacs. Oklahoma is set in the rural farm country outside the town of Claremore, OK. The story revolves around a girl from the farm and her courtship by her two rival suitors. Along with this, the secondary story revolves around the romance between a cowboy and his fiancé.
As soon as the Broadway production opened for this musical, it became a smash at the box-office, where it ran continuously. This blockbuster smash also enjoyed national tours, foreign productions, and awards. In the year 1955, musical Oklahoma was adapted into a film that later won Academy award due to its enormous success. The thing that is so unique about this musical is that it features songs that go very well with the story and work the best side by side.
