Six the Musical Information
Six is a British musical with music, lyrics, and book by Lucy Moss and Toby Marlow. It is defined as a modern retelling of the lives of the six wives of Henry VIII that is presented as a pop concert where the wives take turns singing and telling their stories. They convey the story of suffering due to Henry. Cambridge University students were the first to introduce Six in 2017 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The idea of this musical came to Toby's mind when he was studying in his final year at Cambridge University.
The professional debut of the musical took place on December 18, 2017, when the Edinburgh production and a subsequent showing back in Cambridge attracted the attention of producers Global Musicals and Kenny Wax. A studio recording for the musical was released on September 13, 2018, featuring the original Arts Theatre cast.
The first UK tour by Six began on July 11, 2018, at the Norwich Playhouse, and returned to the Edinburgh Fringe on August 1. In 2019, the musical re-opened for an initial 16-week run at the Arts Theatre on January 17, and the initial run has since been extended to January 2021. The Six North American tours took place at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) in May 2019, and the Norwegian Cruise Line (2019) tour began in September 2019 on Norwegian's Bliss. Six began Broadway previews on February 13, 2020, where the original principal cast is the same as the show's 2019 North American tour. The tour took place at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.

In 2022 Six the Musical won Best New Musical from Outer Critics Circle, Broadway World, and Broadway.com Six on Broadway is playing the Brooks Atkinson Theatre in New York City.
