The Les Schwab Amphitheater is an outdoor amphitheater located at Shevlin-Hixon Dr. Bend, Southern Crossing. It is built in the historic Old Mill District in Bend, Oregon. The venue was named after the successful businessman of tires company and a graduate from the Bend High School, Les Schwab. The amphitheater was open to the general public in 2001. It was built with the accommodation of 8,000 for concerts and events in an outdoor casual setting. The site sits at an elevation of 3,600 feet on the west bank of the Deschutes River.
Free of cost concerts are held at the venue by local performers mostly on Sundays throughout the summer. Some popular artists such as Bob Dylan, Coldplay, Phish, Willie Nelson, and Dave Matthews Band had the privilege to play at the Schwab amphitheater. Other notable events such as Bend Brewfest has also been hosted at the amphitheater. The Les Schwab Amphitheater had been one of the four finalists of the 2016 Sunset Magazine Awards in the “Best Outdoor Music Venue” category. The venue had its impact on Central Oregon in several economic ways. Around 125,000 visitors brought in an estimated 27 million dollars in revenue to the region. The music venue gets busier usually in summer and continues through early fall.
