Rogers Place is a multi-purpose indoor arena which is located at 300 – 10214 104 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta. The venue was opened to the general public on September 8, 2016, to replace the Rexall Place, with a construction cost of CA$480 million. It has a seating capacity of 18,500 for hockey,19,500 for basketball, and 20,734 for concerts. The Rogers Place is under the ownership of the City of Edmonton while the Oilers Entertainment Group operates it. The architecture of the venue was designed by Manica Architecture, Arndt Tkalcic Bengert, DIALOG, and 360 Architecture. Rogers Place currently serves home to Edmonton Oilers (NHL) and Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL).
The first-ever hockey game played in the arena featured the Edmonton Oil Kings take on the Red Deer Rebels in a WHL match. Some popular musical events held at the venue are Pure & Simple Tour by Dolly Parton, DCX MMXVI World Tour by Dixie Chicks, Dig Your Roots Tour, Toruk - The First Flight, The Search for Everything World Tour by John Mayer, and several more. Other sports events hosted by the arena are 2016 CHL Canada/Russia Series, UFC 215, PBR Global Cup, etc.
