SaskTel Centre is located at 3315 Thatcher Avenue, Agriplace Industrial Park, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The arena is situated near the city's northern entrance. The venue was opened to the general public on February 9, 1988, with the former name of the Credit Union Centre. It has a seating capacity of around 11,330 which is now expanded to 15,190 for hockey and 12,100 for End-Stage Concert. The City of Saskatoon owns it.
The architecture of this venue was designed by Thomas Ferguson Architect and PBK Architects, Inc. In 2008–2009, the arena was renovated at the cost of $6.7 million. Some notable Tournaments that are hosted by the arena include The Brier, CHL Memorial Cup, IIHF World Under-20 Championship Hockey, Scott Tournament of Hearts, Canada Cup-Hockey 1991, CHL Top Prospects Game-Hockey 1992, CIS University Hockey Cup (1998, 1999, 2000, 2013, 2014), FIVB Women's Junior Volleyball World Championship-1999, Juno Music Awards, Canada/Russia Super Series-Hockey-2007, Masters of Curling – Grand Slam of Curling, Warped Tour, etc.
Significant events include the Saskatoon Blades' first WHL game (held at the inauguration ceremony), WWF Championship, gala command performance concert for Queen Elizabeth, sold-out performances by Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, The Rolling Stones, and many others occurred at the SaskTel Centre. The venue is expected to host the 2022 Winter Olympics.
