The Von Braun Center Arena (VBC) is located at 700 Monroe Street, Huntsville, Alabama. It was formerly known as the Von Braun Civic Center (VBCC) until 1997. The venue is a multi-purpose indoor arena with a seating capacity of 10,000 people. The Von Braun Center Arena is meant to be a meeting, hall, a concert hall, a playhouse, and a performing arts complex venue. It is under the ownership of the City of Huntsville while operators of this faculty are Convention & Visitors, Bureau, and Huntsville/Madison County. It was opened to the general public on March 14, 1975, with a construction cost of $15 million. The arena underwent renovations in the year 2010, and many expansions took place since its inauguration. The architect of the site was designed by Booz-Allen-Hamilton while the design during the renovation was done by Matheny Goldman.
The venue is currently home to the UAH Chargers ice hockey team and the Huntsville Havoc of the Southern Professional Hockey League. It also hosted public ice skating, youth hockey, and figure skating programs formerly. The largest crowd recorded to be at the venue was 7,083 for a sporting event in the VBC's history on February 10, 2007. It was the site of the first-ever Total Nonstop Action Wrestling card. It has also hosted various rock, pop, and country music concerts along with organizing the productions of the Broadway Theater League. The site also provided space for the Huntsville Museum of Art.
