The Paramount Theatre is a concert venue which is located on Glenarm Place, near Denver's famous 16th Street Mall, Denver, Colorado, USA. It has a seating capacity of 1,870. The venue is a renowned location for significant acts looking for a smaller concert area. In 1980, the place was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It was opened in 1930 as a movie theatre. It was the part of the Paramount-Publix Theatre Circuit. This venue was designed by the Chicago architectural firm of Rapp and Rapp. The decorations were done by designer Vincent Mondo, murals by Louis Grell of the Chicago. The current main entrance to the building was designed by the local architect Temple H. Buell.
For decades, the theatre was one of the successful premier movie houses in the Rocky Mountain region. It was recognized as a historic landmark in 1988 by the city of Denver. This venue hosted HBO comedy special "Son of a Preacher Man" by Sinbad. It also hosts one of the two remaining twin-console Wurlitzer theatre organs. This instrument is one of the largest ever installed in the Rocky Mountain region which was established in the theatre on July 23, 1930.
