NBA Preseason - Detroit Pistons at Oklahoma City Thunder
The BOK center or the Bank of Oklahoma Center is located at 200 South Denver Avenue West, Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States. The center’s ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on August 30, 2008, where Garth Brooks and Hanson performed. It is owned by the City of Tulsa and operated by the SMG. The arena has a seating capacity of 19,199 at Central Stage, 17,839 for Basketball, 17,096 for Hockey, 16,582 for Football arena, and 13,644 seating at the End Stage.
This venue was designed by the all-time famous architect-designer, Cesar Pelli, who was asked to play his role in making the arena a living icon. He designed it by keeping the city’s architectural and cultural themes in his mind. He used swirling circular elements in the interior and exterior of the building’s design.
The first-ever concert which was held on September 6, 2008, featured the “Eagles.” Since the arena is opened, it has been honored by some big acting names such as Elton John, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Jonas Brothers, and The Weeknd. Some of the notable events held at the arena are American Idols LIVE! Tour 2008 on September 13, 2008, Taylor Swift on September 27, 2009, Justin Bieber on July 6, 2010, and so many others.
