The Value City Arena is a multi-purpose arena that is built inside the Schottenstein Center located at 555 Borror Dr, Columbus, Ohio. The Arena was opened on November 3, 1998, with a seating capacity of around 18,809 people at a time. The venue is owned by the Ohio State University Department of Athletics and operated by the Columbus Arena Management. Sink Combs Dethlefs and Moody Nolan designed the architecture of the center.
Schottenstein Center is named in the great honor of Jerome Schottenstein (Late founder of Schottenstein Stores Corp.). The Value City Arena is home to the Ohio State Buckeyes men’s women’s basketball and men’s ice hockey teams. The venue hosted the NCAA Men’s Ice Hockey Championship in 2005. Jeopardy! College Championship took place in the Arena in November 2002. The Circus Starring Britney Spears was held on April 30, 2009.
The Value City Arena hosts hundreds of concerts and other events every year. 2010’s hit “Undo it” of Carrie Underwood was filmed at the venue. The Arena has also hosted some other shows such as Arena Football, Frozen Four, OHSAA Wrestling and Basketball championships, Presidential visits, Jeopardy Taping, and many more.
