The Amway Center is known as a popular sports and entertainment venue, located on 400 West Church Street, Orlando, Florida. It opened its door to the public on October 1, 2010, with a construction cost of over $480 million ($559 million in 2018). The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on September 29, 2010, where Orlando’s Mayor Buddy Dyer was invited. He gave his first-ever Annual Downtown address in this ceremony.
The Amway Center was built in 1989 and has following seating capacity; 17,030 (Center Stage Concert), 16,486 (End Stage Concert), 18,846 (NBA), 20,000 (NCAA Basketball), 17,353 (Ice Hockey), and 17,192 (Arena Football). It is one of the most technologically advanced venues across the Globe with 18 men’s and 19 women’s Public restrooms, three retail stores, 1428 club seats, and much more.
The first-ever concert that was held in the Amway Center took place on October 8 by Vicente Fernandez along with Edith Marquez. Some other popular concerts were performed by Lady Gaga, Shakira, Lil Wayne, Taylor Swift, Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, and Ricky Martin at this venue. The Center has also hosted the 2012 NBA All-Star Game, an honor for this place.
