Soldier Field is an American football stadium, and it is located at 1410 S Museum Campus Drive, Chicago, Illinois. It is the third-smallest stadium in the national football league. The stadium was opened on 9th October 1924 with a construction cost of US$ 13 million. It had a seating capacity of 66,944 in 1994 and 61,500 in 2003. Soldier Field Stadium is under the ownership of the Chicago Park District and operated by SMG. Lohan Caprile Goettsch Architects designed the stadium. It underwent renovation in 2002-2003 with a renovation cost of around $ 632 million.
The Stadium has served home venue to a number of other sports teams in its history, including the University of Notre Dame football, Chicago Cardinals of the NFL and the Chicago Fire of Major League Soccer, as well as games from the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup, the 1994 FIFA World Cup, and multiple Gold Cup championships. Football game between Chicago's Austin Community Academy High School and Louisville Male High School played at the stadium on 4rth October 1924. Notre Dame in 2012 hosted a game at the stadium against the University of Miami. Soldier Field held the opening ceremony of the Gay Games in the summer of 2006. Barack Obama hosted the 2012 Chicago summit in 2012.
