The Banc of California Stadium is a soccer-specific field located at 3939 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, California. The venue is home to one of the most famous football teams, Los Angeles FC of the Major League Soccer. The construction began on August 23, 2016, costing a total amount of $350 million. The stadium opened for the general public on April 18, 2018. It has a seating capacity of approximately 22,00 people. Gensler designs the beautiful architecture of the Banc of California Stadium. Currently, the venue is owned and operated by Los Angeles FC.
The Banc of California Stadium is known to host different football matches along with other sports games, which include Rugby, Lacrosse, and Boxing. The first game played by the home team was against Seattle Sounders FC on April 29, 2018. The stadium also served host to two critical matches of the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup. It also hosted the Premier Lacrosse League All-Star Game on July 21, 2019. The first boxing event hosted by the Banc of California Stadium was on August 17, 2019. The venue has also hosted e-sports on June 2, 2018, in which Epic Games held an event for its multiplayer online video game, the Fortnite Battle Royale. Other than sports events, the stadium hosts cultural events and musical concerts.
Banc of California Stadium was announced as the future host to some of the Track and Field events of men’s and women’s soccer of the 2028 Summer Olympics.
