Credit Union 1 Arena at UIC - Chicago, IL
Credit Union 1 Arina is a multi-purpose arena which is located on the North-western corner of the University of Illinois at Chicago's East campus. Known for years as the UIC Pavilion, it has a 10,000 seating capacity. This arena is known for hosting UIC and other promoters and group events. This arena is used to host various sports, concerts, gatherings, and events which bring students and faculty together. It was opened to the public in 1982 and renovated in 2001. Currently, it is rented to organize concerts and functions.
It was home to the Chicago Sky WNBA team, and currently, it is a home of the University of Illinois at Chicago Flames basketball team and Windy City Rollers of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association. Before moving to the newly constructed Sears Centre, this place was home to the Chicago Storm Major Indoor Soccer League team. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, it hosted the Jim Crockett Promotions and WCW Wrestling. Three PPV events are organized here including Starrcade 87, Chi-Town Rumble and Halloween Havoc 90.
