The Landmark Theatre, which is formerly known as Loew’s State Theatre, is located at 362 S. Salina Street Syracuse, New York. The theatre was opened to the general public on February 18, 1928, with a seating capacity of around 2,908 people at a time. The Landmark Theatre is owned and operated by Syracuse Area Landmark Theatre. The main architecture of the building was designed by Thomas W. Lamb. The theatre is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The site has gone through many closings and reopenings but working great at present.
The Landmark Theatre Syracuse has hosted the world premiere of “The Express” on September 12, 2008. The theatre has also hosted hundreds of concerts and different events since its inauguration. The venue has hosted some top-level national acts such as Ray LaMontagne, Jackson Browne, Celtic Woman, Jerry Seinfeld, and some Broadway touring shows. Some legendary performers who have performed at the Landmark Theatre to entertain the audience are Bob Dylan, Tony Bennett, Lena Horne, Gregory Peck, and Pete Seeger.
