The RingCentral Coliseum is originally known as the Oakland Coliseum. It is a multi-purpose stadium located at 7000 Coliseum Way, Oakland, California. The stadium was opened to the public on September 18, 1966, with a seating capacity of around 46,847 for basketball which is expandable 55,945 people, 47,416 for soccer, and 56,057 for American Football which is expandable to 63,132 people. The arena is owned by the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority (City of Oakland and Alameda County) and operated by AEG. Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill designed the architecture of the ballpark.
The stadium has been home to Major League Baseball’s “Oakland Athletics” and the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League. The only stadium that is shared by the professional baseball and football teams of the United States is the RingCentral Coliseum. On September 18, 1966, Raiders played their first game at the stadium. When Kansas City Athletics moved to Oakland in 1968, they also started using this stadium. The RingCentral Coliseum hosted the 1971 East-West Shrine Game on January 2, 1971. The arena has also hosted the college football benefit games from the year 1970 to 1972.
