Pacific Amphitheatre is a type of amphitheater that is situated within the OC Fair and Event Center. The venue is located at 100 Fair DR, Costa Mesa, California. It has a seating capacity of about 8,042. The seating capacity of the Pacific Amphitheatre reduced from 18,765 to around 8000 after the venue underwent some significant renovations in the year 2015. The amphitheater opened for the general public on 29 July 1983. The venue closed in the early 1990s and reopened in 2003. The Pacific Amphitheater is owned by the Orange County Fair Board and operated by Nederlander Concerts.
The Pacific Amphitheatre serves as a host to different types of events such as commencement of colleges, concerts, and live performances. On June 30, 1984, Jefferson Starship performed at the venue, and the performance was broadcast live nationwide by the ABC Rock Radio Network. The final concerts of Marvin Gaye before his death was also hosted by the amphitheatre. The venue has also hosted some of the outstanding performances by renowned artists, which include B.B. King, Taylor Swift, Alan Jackson, and Willie Nelson.
