Prudential Center - Newark, NJ
The Prudential Center is a multi-purpose indoor arena located at 25 Lafayette Street, Newark, New Jersey, United States. The place was opened on October 25, 2007. It has a seating capacity of 16,514 (Ice Hockey), 18,711 (Basketball), 17,502 (Indoor Soccer), 17,625 (Lacrosse), 17,500 (Concerts). The arena is owned by Newark Housing Authority and operated by Devils Arena Entertainment. The architect was designed by Populous (formerly HOK Sport).
The Devils won their first regular-season game at the arena on October 31, 2007. It also hosted the game 1,2, and 5 of the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals. College basketball’s Legend Classic also hosted their finals and semifinals in November 2007 and 2008. The Prudential Center was also the home to be of the New Jersey Nets. The 2011 NBA draft was held at the arena on June 23, 2011. It again happened on June 28, 2012. On November 11, 2016, the venue hosted Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions. The UFC 78 was held at the Prudential Center on November 17, 2007, and it was the first event to take place at this place.
