The Matthew Knight Arena (MKA) is located at1390 Villard St., Eugene, Oregon, United States. It is a multi-purpose arena which has a seating capacity of 12,364 people at a time. The venue is under the ownership of National Championship Properties and operated by Arena Network. The inauguration ceremony of this arena took place on January 13, 2011, with a construction cost of $227 million. MKA is home to the University of Oregon Ducks basketball teams. It is named after the chief donor Phil Knight's son, Matthew Knight. The architectural work for the venue is carried out by Ellerbe Becket of Kansas City and TVA Architects of Portland.
The floor of the arena is named in honor of former Oregon Athletic Director Pat Kilkenny, Kilkenny Floor. It was designed by Tinker Hatfield. The Matthew Knight Arena was criticized on various aspects including income overstating, insufficient parking, Trash disposal, noise, physical security, etc.
