Mechanics Bank Arena is a multi-purpose arena which is located at 1001 Truxtun Avenue Bakersfield, California. Initially, the venue was known as Centennial Garden, and was known for years as the Rabobank Arena. The construction of the arena began on June 9, 1997, with a total construction cost of $59.3 million. The venue opened for the general public on October 1, 1998. The seating capacity of the Rabobank Arena is about 10,400 for concerts and 8,751 for Ice hockey. The arena is owned by the City of Bakersfield while it is operated by AEG. The architecture of the arena is designed by Rossetti Architects.
Mechanics Bank Arena serves as a home field to the famous Ice hockey team named as Bakersfield Condors of American Hockey League. It serves as an occasional home to the Bakersfield Roadrunners Men’s NCAA Division I Basketball games of the California State University. The arena is also home to the State Wrestling Championship Tournament of the California Interscholastic Federation High School. Some of the famous tenants of the venue include Bakersfield Jam and Bakersfield Blitz. The site hosts a wide range of various events, which include concerts, family gatherings, and community activities. The arena has also hosted some of the memorable performances and tours by renowned artists, which include J Balvin, Celtic Woman, Godsmack, and Jo Koy.
