The Rogers Arena is an indoor sports arena at 800 Griffith Way, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Arena was opened to the public on September 21, 1995, with the former name of General Motors Place. This name was later replaced with Canada Hockey Place in 2010. The venue has a capacity of 19700 people for Ice hockey and 19000 people for the concert at a time. Brisbin, Brook, and Beynon designed its rich architecture. It is under the ownership of Canucks Sports & Entertainment. The site has the approval to build three new towers with 614 rental units having 753 parking slots and 216000 square feet for the commercial area.
Rogers Arena is the current home to the Vancouver Canucks Hockey team. It is considered to be a beloved venue for some for popular concerts and the biggest shows in the world. Notable events that were held at Rogers Arena include WWE in your house in 1996, 27th annual Juno Awards in 1998, World Figure Skating Championships in 2001, Hockey played in 2002, 38th annual Juno Awards and 47th Juno Awards, Winter Olympics (ice hockey) in 2010, Stanley Cup Finals in 2011, International 2018 Dota 2 eSports tournament in 2018, etc. This Arena also hosted UFC in 2010, 2011, 2014, and 2016.
