The Kohl Center is an athletic center and arena which is located at 601 West Dayton Street, Madison, Wisconsin, USA. It was opened to the general public on January 17, 1998, with a construction cost of $76.4 Million. The venue has a seating capacity of 17,230 for basketball and 15,359 for hockey. It is a multi-surface arena which is owned and operated by the Wisconsin Badgers. The architecture of the building is designed by Heinlein Schrock Stearns, Venture Architects, and HOK Sport. The arena currently serves home to Wisconsin Badgers Dodgeball, Wisconsin Badgers Men's Basketball, Wisconsin Badgers Women's Basketball, WIAA State Boys Basketball Tournament, and Wisconsin Badgers Men's Hockey.

The Kohl Center is named after the former Milwaukee Bucks owner and the former United States Senator, Herb Kohl (due to his $25 million donation to the site). Due to the name of the donor, the arena is locally referred to as the Herb Garden. It enjoys the position of second-largest venue in Wisconsin while the largest outside the Milwaukee. It holds the nation's highest attendance record in men's and women's college hockey.

The venue also hosts concerts, commencement ceremonies, ice skating shows, career fairs, political gatherings, and conventions, along with sports. Some famous events held at the arena are NCAA women's volleyball national championship, annual Varsity Band Spring Concert, the speech of the Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, Science Olympiad National Tournament (opening and closing ceremonies), etc.
