The State Farm Center is an indoor arena. It was formerly known as the AssemblyHall. It is located at South First Street, Champaign, Illinois. The State Farm Center opened to the general public on March 2, 1963. It has a seating capacity of about 16,618 people. The State Farm Center is under the ownership and is operated by the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. It has a large dome-shaped arena. Harrison and Abramovitz designed the architecture of the State Farm Center. The venue has been the third-largest arena in Illinois.
State Farm Center has hosted several Illinois High School Association Events. It has served as a home to the state individual wrestling tournament and the state finals of the boys’ basketball tournament. The venue has hosted the IHSA girls’ basketball tournament as well. The WCIA 3 Broadway Series which features popular musical series such as Miss Saigon, Les Misérables, Fiddler On The Roof and Rent were held at the venue.
