The Macon Centreplex is a multi-purpose entertainment center that is located at 200 Coliseum Dr, Macon, GA. It was a former home to the Macon Knights arena football team and Macon Trax ice hockey teams until 2006. The venue was inaugurated in 1968 as a first facility of its kind and size in the state. It has a seating capacity of 9,252 for concerts and 7,182 for hockey and arena football. It is owned by the city of Macon and operated by Comcast spectator. The auditorium underwent renovations in the year 1996. The architecture of an arena was designed by Kenneth M. Betsch.
Elvis Presley was a famous and well-known performer of that time who performed in Macon Centreplex Coliseum on April 15, 1972. Other notable artists including Leon Russell, Prince, Kenny Rogers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Elton John, Hank Williams Jr, and Aerosmithalso gave their live performances in the venue. American rock band R.E.M. performed part of its first concert film "tour film" on November 11, 1989. An episode of WCW super cardClash of the Champions aired lives from Macon Centreplex on November 18, 1992. World Wrestling Federation or "WWF" held the final episode of the main event on January 28, 1991. Weekly flagship show, Impact Wrestling, was also held in the Centreplex on October 27, 2011.
