Raymond James Stadium, also known as Ray Jay, is a multipurpose football stadium located at North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, Florida. It is currently home to Tampa Bay Buccaneers of National Football League as well as NCAA’s South Florida Bull Football team. The stadium holds a seating capacity of 65,618 people at a time which can be expanded to 75,000 through the addition of temporary seats for special events.
The stadium was first opened on September 20, 1998, while the first soccer game was held on March 20, 1999. This stadium is under the ownership of Hillsborough Country while operated and managed by the Tampa Sports Society. Wagner Murray and Populous designed the architecture of this stadium. It has been undergoing multi-phase renovations last one taken place in 2018.
The Raymond James Stadium also hosts large scale concerts. U2 performed the largest attended show of 72,000 people in 2009. It is scheduled to host WWF’s WrestleMania 46 on April 5, 2020. It also hosts Annual Outback Bowls College football post-season game on New- year day since 1999. Popular events that were hosted at this stadium include ACC Championship Game in 2008 and 2009, Super Bowl in 2000 and 2008, NFL playoffs 1999, 2002, 2005, and 2007, etc. The famous performers who performed burning concerts at this venue include Kenny Chesney, Ed Shereen, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, NSYNC, One Direction, and some others.
