Homestead-Miami Speedway is a racing track located in Homestead, Florida. Many racing series are hosted at this location, such as the Championship Cup Series, the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series, the IndyCar Series, and NASCAR. The speedway was opened on November 5, 1995, with a construction cost of $70 million and a seating capacity of 46,000. The former name of the Homestead-Miami Speedway was Homestead Motorsports Complex.
Homestead-Miami Speedway hosts the final race of the season in all three of the NASCAR’s series: NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, the NASCAR Cup Series, and Ford Championship Weekend. Currently, the races have the names Baptist Health 200, Hooters 250, and Dixie Vodka 400.
Former Races that have taken place at Homestead-Miami Speedway include Atlantic Championship, CART, Cooper Tires USF2000 National Championship powered by Mazda, FIA GT Championship, Florida Winter Series, Formula Renault North America, Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, and IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge. Others include Indy Lights, NASCAR Goody’s Dash Series, NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Southwest Series, USAC Silver Crown Series, United States Road Racing Championship, IndyCar Series, and Trans-AM Serie.
Most wins in NASCAR at Homestead-Miami Speedway are for Greg Biffle and Tony Stewart, who have won the championship three times each. Kevin Harvick is the one who has completed the most laps at the venue during NASCAR, which is 5,346. Many other achievements have been taken home by the major racers at the venue.
