The Fox Theatre is located at 527 N. Grand Blvd. St. Louis, Missouri, United States. It is a former movie palace serving as a performing arts center. It is also popular as The Fabulous Fox. The inauguration of this venue took place on 31st January 1929. It has a seating capacity of 4,500 (4,192 theatergoers plus 234 in the private Fox Club) and is a type of concert venue. The theatre is under the ownership of Fox Associates which was completed restored in 1982.
It was built by the movie pioneer William Fox for showcasing films by the Fox Film Corporation. At the time of opening, this place was stated to be the second-largest theatre in the US. It was designed by C. Howard Crane (an architect specialized in theatres). The theatre was designed in an eclectic blend of Asian decorative motifs called Siamese Byzantine. The style of the theatre was nicknamed the "Eve Leo Style" by William Fix as a tribute to his wife.
