The State Farm Arena, formerly known as the Philips Arena, is located at 1 State Farm Drive, Atlanta, Georgia. The place was opened for public on September 18, 1999, and has a seating capacity of 16,600 (Basketball), 17,624 (Ice Hockey), and 21,000+ (Concerts). The arena is owned by Atlanta-Fulton County Recreation Authority and operated by the Atlanta Hawks. The largest crowd that was gathered at this arena was during game 6 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals on May 2, 2008, where the recorded attendance was 20,425. The architect of the venue was designed by Populous (formerly HOK Sport). The State Farm Arena is home to the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association.
The State Farm Arena hosted the NBA All-Star Game in 2003. In 2012, the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament took place in the arena. The first-ever NHL playoff game was played in the venue in 2007. Game three of the 2010 WNBA finals, where the Seattle Storm saved the victory against Atlanta dreams, was also hosted by this place. US Figure Skating Championships were hosted in this arena in 2004. The Passion Conference takes place in the State Farm Arena every year, where big names of the Christian World appear.
